This list is by no means comprehensive. These sites are either farms that I have visited or sites that have linked to me. Somehow there is a connection. Not all are in English, but they can be visited to see pictures of horses, a region, to get good links, etc.

Lukka at Langhús Farm
Good collection of articles, most by Lukka, about the care, training, and selection of horses. Known primarily for her service in finding and evaluating horses for sale. |
Holavatnshestar
A site that is more than that of a horse farm, it has a vaste collection of good links about horses and farms in different parts of Iceland. Go to http://www.holavatn.com/tenglar.htm. In Icelandic, but worth checking out. |
Thufa in Kjos
The site of Bibi and Bjössi at their horse farm Þúfa in Kjós. Good friends of mine who have been very helpful. Be sure to click "Magni is born" on the menu. Fabulous photos of a foal being born! |
Hrisdalur
The horse farm Hrísdalur is located right by The Long Beach on Snæfellsnes, Löngufjörur, one of the most spectacular riding areas in Iceland. Worth the visit, now in Icelandic only. |
Hest
In Icelandic, the website of the farm Hestaborg in Hveragerði. Sigríður Elka Guðmundsdóttir, Elka, writes the site and runs the farm with Jóhann Garðar Jóhannesson. ALL HORSES AND ADS ARE VERIFIED! |
Sibba & Víðir
A new website by a young couple in the Blönduós where they are training and breeding horses since they both graduated from Hólar. It's a new website that is growing but already very charming. |
Hömluholt
On Snæfellsness, right by the Long Beach. A small family horse farm, good friends of mine, and Guðný, a graduate of Hólar, speaks excellent English. |
Icelandic Horse Farm Lýtingsstaðir
A family horse farm in Skagafjörður, Sveinn and Evelyne also offer a wide variety of riding tours. I know them only through the internet, but I can vouch for their location which, like their website, is worth a visit. |
Sandra Marin and Ragnar Stefánsson (in Swedish and Icelandic)
Ragnar (Raggi) is Stebbi's son and the grandson of Friðgeir from 3 Guys and a Horse from Dalvik. Sandra and Rqaggi train and raise horses in Akureyri and have a colorful website in both Swedish (thanks to Sandra) and Icelandic -- fun to compare! |
Laufbrekka at Vindott.net
An Icelandic language site by my friend, Guðni Indriðason in Kjalarnes. Worth a visit to see his photos of silver dapples (vindott) and Kjalarnes, just outside of Reykjavik. |
