Eileen Gunipero provides a special service for Icelandic horse owners. She fits and adjusts saddles just for the Icelandic horse. Our local Icelandic Horse club invited Eileen to give an informal clinic before we held our annual Thorrablót party. Here is an excerpt.
In Iceland, the clubs act as a counter-balance to the large farms so that individuals and small farmers can have access to horse facilities and resources. Each community has its club, as you can see from this list (in Icelandic) of clubs with their names and logos. I really believe that if the Icelandic horse is going to "take" in the US, it will be through the clubs! Come with me on a video visit to Dreyri, the club in Akranes.
